Gup tests (Colored Belt):
Test every 3 months

Dan tests (Black Belt):
Twice a year. (March and September)

Kyo Sah tests (Instructor):
Must be over the age of 18 and up black belt - Twice a year (March and September)
Instructor test: After one year as training instructor  
Must have taken instructor test before fourth degree black belt test. If you don’t have, then you cannot test fourth degree black belt.

2.  Their Instructor must recommend students qualified to test.

3.  Students qualified to test must attend a minimum number of classes as determined by the Instructor.

4.  If a student fails a test, he / she may retest at the next make-up test or regular testing period.

5.  Students qualified to test must pay test fees. 
This fee will cover the entire testing period, which includes the regular test and make-up tests.

6.  Students must exhibit good techniques and behavior, and display respect at all times.

7.  All results are graded and recorded.  Certificates will be awarded after passing each test
(Continental Tang Soo Do Federation Members only).
 

8.  Color belt (Gup) Testing:

White belt (N/A) to Yellow belt (9th Gup): No Period

Yellow belt (9th Gup) to Red Belt 2 (1st Gup): Period of 3 months between each belt test

1st Gup to Chodan-Bo 2nd Gup: Period of 6 months between tests

Chodan-Bo 2nd Gup to Chodan-Bo 1st Gup: Period of 3 months between tests

Chodan-Bo 1st Gup to 1st Dan: No Period (Test in March or September)

9. Black belt (Dan) Testing:   
 
Black belt (Dan) Testing: Pre- test: Period of 3 months between tests.     

1st Dan to 2nd Dan: Period of 2 years between tests (After 7 Times pre test).     

2nd  Dan to 3rd Dan: Period of 3 years between tests (After 11 Times pre test).     

3rd Dan to 4th Dan: Period of 4 years between tests (After 15 Times pre test).     

Master test: Must be 21 years or older   

4th Dan to 5th Dan- waiting period 6 years or more of practice.     

5th Dan to 6th Dan- waiting period 7 years or more of practice.     

6th Dan to 7th Dan- waiting period 8 years or more of practice.     

7th Dan to 8th Dan- waiting period 9 years or more of practice.
