C.T.F Student Rules
1.
Salute flags when entering & exiting the Doh Jahng
2. Before class no smoking & drinking. No chewing gum during
class.
3. Do not wear any jewelry while practicing.
4. Keep valuables locked up, the school assumes no
responsibility for lost & stolen items.
5. Do not use profanity and respect each other.
6. Keep uniform neat and clean.
7. Students must obey & respect Instructor.
8. Maintain proper posture at all time
(No hands on hips & no arms crossed inside Doh Jahng)
9. You must have permission from your instructor to participate
in any tournament.
10. Never use drugs.
CHILDREN'S HOME RULES
* Children should:
1.Be obedient to their parents.
2. Respect parents, family members, teacher and peers.
3. Appreciate their parents and teacher.
4. Do their homework and not rely on their parents.
5. Don’t lie and don’t say bad words.
6. Always keep themselves clean.
7. Study and train hard so they can be healthy and successful in
life.
8. Sleep early and wake up early.
9. Not complain and eat what is good for them.
10. Not interrupt adult conversations.
C. T. F. BASIC RULES FOR SPARRING
1.
All students must wear the following safety equipment:
Headgear, Facemask, mouthpiece, foot guards, hand guards, chest
guards and groin cups (for men).
2. All sparring must have good control at all times, which means
light contact to the body, no kicking below the belt, no
punching and kicking to the face and head without face cage
(light contact). If
you or your partner is not wearing sparring gear, there will be
NO contact during sparring. If your
partner is injured from you, it is your responsibility.
3. Do not be overly aggressive.
Never attack a fallen or defenseless student.
Always show proper courtesy to others. For example, if a
mistake is made, from the attention position you must bow and
say "Sorry Sir / Ma'am."
4. Always keep hands up in
a defense position, keeping fists tight. Maintain good focus
and concentration at all times.
Forms Competition Rules
1. All
Tang Soo Do students practice forms as a way of developing focus
and power, and as a means of practicing proper technique.
2. Forms provide the opportunity for artistic expression,
allowing the competitor to use a variation of style and
technique.
3. Participants must sit quietly when not performing forms.
4. Improper manners or not sitting quietly will result in point
deduction for this competition.
5. Forms will be scored by spirit, focus, balance, stance,
power, speed, and realism, clean, performed in a graceful,
flowing manner. 6. Forms competition will be scored on a scale
from 5.0, 5.1 to 10.0
Sparring Competition Rules
Mandatory Equipment: Protective Cups (For men), headgear, hand &
footgear, mouth guard, chest protectors.
No face Contact.
We will be using a stopping signal to award each point.
Controlled, light contact only, each round will last 2 minutes.
Each warning will count as -1 point
Attack below belt, Collarbones, Neck, Face, Push, Grab, Sweep,
Attack with elbow, Knee, spear hands,
or bottom fists, Bad attitude
Each Legal Target Point Technique will count as 1point
Attack with punch or kick to chest and rib area, delivering
strikes to the chest, stomach, or ribs may score points.
Points may also be scored by light contact kick to the headgear
on the sides only.
(A warning will be issued if attack to head is hard)
NOTE: No points will be awarded for techniques aimed at
the top or back of the head.
Disqualification will result after 3 warnings, and/or inflicting
any injury or severe pain to an opponent.
The first 3 points scored automatically wins.
If sparring goes over two minutes the competitor with the
highest point wins.
In the event of tie, sudden death rule, first point is winner
Breaking Competition Rules
Breaking
is an exciting aspect of martial arts that allows the individual
to use concentration, focus, and power to deliver a strike that
smashes and scatters boards. The competitor must
demonstrate balance, power, speed, accuracy, and extreme
concentration in order to succeed in this event. Breaking is
judged by the following criteria:
1. Participants must sit quietly when not performing breaking.
Improper manners or not sitting quietly will result in point
deduction for this competition.
2. The competitor must cleanly break the targets while
maintaining good form and body control.
3. Technique, degree of difficulty, spirit, and number of
attempts also factor into the scoring.
4. Each competitor is allowed three-station break
5. Breaking must have three stations, unlimited amount of
boards.
6. 9 gup & under (No age limit) - No breaking requirement
7. 8 gup & up: (10
years & under) - They must have at lease a one station kick
break
8. 8 gup & up: (11 years & up) - They must have at lease two-station
kick break.
9. The event is scored on a scales from 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 to 10.0
The center referee will be responsible for his/her ring and
shall make all calls (points, warnings, contact, etc.).
The
center referee alone shall determine if any prohibited attack
was deliberate, and if so, disqualify the offending competitor.
The
center referee has the authority to disqualify any competitor.
The
corner referee will signal “point”, “warning”, “no point”, or
“no see.” Each
competitor’s safety is of utmost importance.
It will
take precedence over everything else.
